Creating Your Personal Brand: 5 Unexpected Places to Showcase It in Your Real Estate Business
2/21/2025
Creating your personal brand isn’t about being someone you’re not—it’s about amplifying what makes you unique as both a realtor and a mom. But having a brand isn’t just about choosing colors and a logo—it’s about infusing your personality, values, and expertise into every part of your business.
So, once you’ve built the foundation of your personal brand, what’s next? Where do you actually put it to work? That’s exactly what we’re diving into today!
1. Your Email Signature
Firstly, your email signature is prime real estate (pun intended) for branding! Every email you send is an opportunity to reinforce your expertise, credibility, and yes—your personal brand.
When creating your personal brand, you be sure to update your email signature to match. Here are a few ways to include your personal brand in your email signature:
- Add in your professional headshot (keep reading for more on that!)
- Use your brand colors
- Add a tagline that speaks to your ideal person
- Include a link to your website
- Link to your social media to keep the conversation going
2. Social Media Content
When done right, social media is a powerful way to showcase your personality and expertise without chasing leads. When you’re creating your personal brand, social media is where you can really show it off!
Here are a few ways to do that as a busy mom in real estate:
- Behind-the-scenes content (from car pool lanes to contract negotiations)
- Brand-aligned graphics
- Video & reels (face-to-cam show your personality best!)
- Personal stories
Pro Tip: When creating your personal brand on social media, focus on the sweet spot where your strengths align with what your ideal client values most.

3. Business Cards
Still using outdated, generic business cards from your broker? It’s time for an upgrade!
When creating your personal brand in real estate, your business card should be a mini representation of you—not just another forgettable piece of paper. This is your chance to make an impression and have some fun with it!
How to incorporate personal brand into your business card:
- Use your brand colors and logo for a cohesive, recognizable look
- Add a QR code linking to your website, social media, or a digital homebuyer guide
- Include a tagline that speaks directly to your ideal client (e.g., Helping families find home sweet home!)
- Invest in high-quality printing for a polished, professional feel
- Bonus: Consider unique finishes like soft-touch, foil accents, or rounded edges to make your card stand out even more!
At the end of the day, your business card should be a clear reflection of your personal brand and what you stand for.
Pro Tip: If keeping up with printed cards feels like one more thing on your to-do list, you might want to switch to using a digital business card. This way, you can share your contact details instantly, without adding more clutter to your bag—because let’s be honest, it’s probably already full of snacks and toys.
4. Professional Headshots
Forget the stiff, traditional headshot with a plain white backdrop—you can do better! Your headshot is often the first place potential clients see you, so it should reflect your personality. You’re not boring, and your headshots shouldn’t be either!
Here are just a few ways to mix it up when creating your personal brand:
- Choose a meaningful location—Instead of a generic studio, take your photos in a setting that aligns with your brand, like a beautifully staged home, a trendy café, or even outdoors in a neighborhood you love.
- Incorporate brand colors—Whether it’s your outfit, accessories, or the background, subtle pops of your brand colors help tie everything together. (You’ll find me in pink, of course! 😆)
- Show personality through poses and expressions—You don’t have to stick to a formal, arms-crossed pose. Laugh, hold a coffee, or be in action—whatever feels authentic to you.
- Mix up the shots—Get a variety of close-ups, full-body shots, and lifestyle images so you have options for different platforms and marketing materials. (For example, you’ll want a headshot you can use on your website but you’ll also want some shots you can use on social media or other marketing collateral too!)
- Dress the part—Choose outfits that make you feel confident and align with the image you want to project. Whether it’s polished and professional or approachable and casual, consistency is key.

5. Your Website
Your real estate website should be more than just a place to list properties—it should feel like a true reflection of you and your brand and instantly communicate what makes you stand out.
A well-designed, on-brand website helps you stand out, build trust, and create a memorable experience for potential clients. Every detail, from the colors to the messaging, should reinforce your personal brand so that visitors don’t just scroll past—they connect with you and remember you.
Here’s how you can start creating your personal brand through your website:
- Make sure your bio reflects your personal brand—not just a standard introduction, but a message that connects with your ideal clients (and put it on your about page and a sentence or two in your footer!).
- Use your brand colors, fonts, and those new head shots you got to create a polished, professional look. (Remember: Professional doesn’t have to mean boring!)
- Client testimonials that highlight your expertise and reinforce what makes your personal brand unique.
Pro Tip: Your website should feel like “you” even when you’re not there to personally introduce yourself. Ask yourself—if a potential client landed on your site today, would they immediately get a sense of who you are and why you’re different? If not, it’s time for a refresh!
The Gist
By intentionally weaving your personal brand into every aspect of your business—from your headshots to your business cards—you create a lasting impression that makes it easier for the right clients to remember and connect with you.
When you brand these five key areas, you’ll attract more dream clients, build trust faster, and grow a business that aligns with your life (without working around the clock!).
