REAL estate MOM COACH

I Built a Real Estate Business Good Enough to Walk Away From

9/21/2026

Jordan and I have made the decision to move back home to North Carolina and with that move we have decided to close this chapter of our real estate team in South Carolina and step into something new. We also have no plans to start selling real estate in North Carolina once we move.

At the beginning of this year, we had a real conversation about what we wanted our lives to look like — and more importantly, the childhood we wanted for our children. After months of prayer and discussion, we know this is the move God is calling us to make. We have a deep desire to raise our kids closer to family, rooted in the community that helped mold us into who we are today.

With the decision of that move came a big question — what would happen to our real estate business, and how would we continue to serve the people we care so much about? How do we stay connected to the industry that has changed our lives, but in a way that supports our lives, our mission, our purpose, and what God is calling us to do?

Here’s my answer.

We are transitioning from the Taley Hunt Home Group to The PINK Connection. Instead of building a traditional real estate business, we will be working on a referral basis to help consumers get connected to the best agents in their cities. Not only do we get to stay rooted in lead generation activities and our database while not abandoning the marketing machine we have built, but we get to serve the agent community in a big way by directly helping agents find more clients. We are so excited — and a little nervous, because this is a brand new model for us and we’re building it in real time.

But before I tell you more about what’s next, I need to tell you how I got here — because this decision didn’t come out of nowhere.

Writing this article is not simple or easy. I’ve spent the last 6 years of my life building a business, a team, and a brand that is rooted in being excellent in the real estate industry. At some point, my entire identity felt like it was wrapped up in being the girl who sold a lot of houses, really quickly, without paid leads… and doing it all as a mom in the thick of raising babies.

There was a time in my life and business that I looked around and realized that I didn’t quite know who I was outside of real estate sales and being a mom. It was always one or the other. I was either putting out fires for clients or working hard to be a present mom. To be honest with you, I still feel this way often. I have been so engulfed in building that I have not had much time to focus on who and what I want to be outside of it.

In 2019, the Army brought us to Columbia, South Carolina. We didn’t choose this place. But looking back, it was definitely a God thing. What started as a career I would “try out” on a whim — completely without confidence that I’d ever be successful — turned into a business that changed my life forever.

I spent the first 3 years in my business working 40-60 hours per week (if not more) towards hitting big goals, winning top awards, and making a lot of money. Eventually, I hit a really big wall of burnout. I became the girl who sells a lot of houses. I felt my worth was defined by the productivity and success of my real estate business. Slowing down was not on my radar and I genuinely felt like if I did, I was not as impressive, strong, successful, or worth learning from.

Writing that out loud is like a gut punch. Looking back and realizing that I spent many years feeling so tethered to the outcome of my real estate sales business brings up a feeling of shame. I felt so little of myself that if I didn’t overachieve or overextend, I felt like the world was crashing around me. I made decisions based on how the world would perceive me. Untangling that has been a deeply personal journey and I am so thankful to have come through that season on the other side.

After hitting a wall of burnout, I decided to build a real estate team that would allow me to change the lives of the people that I would bring into my world and allow me to have more freedom. My goal was to get out of personal production so that I could spend more time with my family and by myself. It worked! I built a team that brought in over $1.5M/year, didn’t work past 2:30pm daily, stepped out of sales, and even took a real maternity leave.

The past 6 years have been more than I ever expected, in the best way. I worked hard, built big, and am better for it in every way. Along the way, I realized that my purpose, the one that I believe that God has given me, is to reach back down the ladder that I’ve climbed and helping other moms in real estate climb, build, and grow businesses that feel just as good as they look. It’s funny how God will take us through one season to get to the next.

Last year, I found out that I was pregnant with son and my whole world flipped upside down. Around January of 2026, I went through a shift that almost felt like I was waking up out of a daze that I’d been walking around in for years. The waking up felt like realizing that:

MORE is not always better

It’s okay to build in a way that doesn’t make sense to others

I can have a life that feels like “mine” instead of one I am building for others

a 7 figure business that isn’t your true calling isn’t worth the 7 figures it brings

peace, presence, and purpose means more than what the rat race of real estate produces

we have the freedom of choice and it’s our responsibility to use it wisely

And now, a new season is here for our lives and this real estate business that I’ve spent years building. I want to share this with you because it matters. I believe that what I am about to do is something that so many women need to see modeled in real time.

I want you to hear this: This is me boldly practicing what I preach — building a business around my life, not the other way around. I am giving myself permission to start over, to be new at something again, to be a little messy and figure it out slowly.

I want to be honest with you about how hard it was to get here.

Stepping away from a business that produces over a million dollars in commissions a year is not something I took lightly. And if I’m being really transparent — I was scared. Scared that if I was no longer operating in a traditional sales model, the women I coach would stop trusting me. That my credibility would walk out the door with my production numbers. Choosing to shut down a team doesn’t just impact me, but also the people who work with us. It’s not an easy decision, but it is one that we feel really sure about.

When determining if this is really what we were going to do, I asked myself the question that has guided so many of my decisions lately — what advice would I give my children in this moment?

I would tell my kids to honor their own needs, their own goals, their own dreams. I would tell them that the bravest thing they could do is trust that if God is leading them somewhere, they must go — even if it’s scary, even if it doesn’t make sense on paper, and even if people won’t understand.

So that’s what I’m doing. I’m taking all of the strategies and skills that I’ve learned over the last 6 years and pouring them into another real estate model while continuing to teach YOU everything you need to know about building a successful real estate business.

I have spent the last few months quietly preparing for this. I have no idea exactly where this will take us. But I am so excited to find out. What I do know is this — I am not disappearing. I am not stepping back. I am stepping fully forward into the thing I believe I was always meant to do.

To the women in my coaching communities and the moms in real estate who have been on this journey with me — I am so excited to go all in on pouring into YOU. I believe, without any doubt, that God put me into real estate sales because my true purpose is to impact each and every one of vyou. Selling homes was never the purpose. It was only the vehicle that led me to you.

Creating more space in my world with this transition means I get to show up as THE real estate coach for moms in this industry — more present, more creative, more all in than I have ever been. I cannot wait to see what we build together in this next chapter.

What I know, what I teach, what I’ve built.. it doesn’t go away with this move. In fact, it is only amplified. Because I am showing you, in real time, what it looks like to build a business and a brand so strong that you have the option to step away entirely and STILL be successful in every way.

I have built a business that has given me the ultimate freedom — the freedom of choice. And I want every mom in real estate reading this to know: there is no one right way to have success. Build it on your own terms. Honor what God is calling you toward. Trust that what is meant for you will be for you, because He has already said so. You never know who you are inspiring because you are choosing to live in a way that is authentic to you.

There are not enough examples of women courageously choosing themselves in this industry. There are not enough examples of women building 7 figure business, using the income to build enough passive income, multiple streams, and wealth to give them options. There are not enough examples of moms in real estate both earning 7+ figures AND having full flexibility. I am stepping into this space and showing you what is possible. Because the dream that you have, of freedom and happiness, it is possible. I am a walking testimonial of everything that I teach working in real time.

My friend, you are allowed to choose what is next — boldly, messily, and completely on your own terms. Not because it’s broken. Because you know you can. My business is thriving and, still, I am choosing to step away, recalibrate, and rebuild in a way that honors my life’s mission.

This is the goal. 🩷

To the moms in real estate reading this and wishing they could build a business that gives them freedom of choice, I didn’t get here by accident. I got here by building with intention — the lead gen strategies, the systems, the scaling, and wealth building… all of it. This is why I created MOMWARD — to serve as a space where I can teach YOU how to do it, too. Join here and learn from me weekly.
