Fun Thanksgiving Real Estate Marketing Ideas to Try in 2024
11/18/2024
Fact: Thanksgiving does not have to be a “slow season” in real estate! With the changing of seasons and all the holidays, there are a ton of fun ways you can market your business right now—both to attract new leads and nurture current connections. To help you get started, I’ve put together a list of a few of my favorite Thanksgiving real estate marketing ideas for you to try this year!
5 Thanksgiving Real Estate Marketing Ideas
1. Host a “Friendsgiving” Open House
Have you ever hosted a themed open house for your real estate business? If not, now is the perfect time to start! Hosting something fall-themed like a Friendsgiving open house doesn’t need to be fancy—offer up some of your favorite fall treats and warm beverages and you’ll be a fan favorite.
If you’re not feeling friendsgiving, you could do a “Sunday Football” open house, “Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice” open house, S’mores and stories open house—you get the picture! The sky is the limit when it comes to potential themes you can use to drive people in. 🤩
Have more than one property you want to show off? Why not take it up a notch by planning a “Friendsgiving Crawl” where you and your team host multiple open houses on the same day, giving potential buyers (and other real estate agents!) a chance to view a few of the homes they have on their radar.
2. Offer a “Home for the Holidays” Incentive
Incentives are a great way to encourage home buyers to make a move, and they’re also a super fun way to partner with local businesses too. From partnering with a moving company to chatting with your local gifting company about holiday-themed welcome home baskets—the options are endless.
The best part about this Thanksgiving real estate marketing idea is you don’t need to do all the heavy lifting on your own and can bring attention to another small business in the process!
Once you have a promotion or incentive in place, spread your message far and wide. Make sure everyone knows what you have to offer this holiday season. (Pro Tip: Remind potential buyers that you can get them “home for the holidays” and how GOOD that will feel! This will help motivate them to overcome that underlying urge to “wait until next year.”)
3. Record a Quick a “Thankful for YOU” Video
Everyone knows video is all the rage on social media these days, so why not check your first video post off your to-do list with a quick post shouting out your community? Here’s how this Thanksgiving real estate marketing tip works:
- Find a well lit spot in your home, and take out your phone for a face to cam video. (Yep, no need for fancy equipment—we’re keeping it casual and authentic!)
- Start with a quick “hook” to get your viewers attention. Here’s an example: “I know Thanksgiving is a few days away, but I couldn’t wait to share this…”
- Briefly introduce yourself including your name and what you do.
- Highlight a few things you love about your community or your clients, and express genuine gratitude.
- End the video with a quick reminder of how to work with you, and press post.
Simple!! ✅
This easy marketing idea is a great way to share a “thank you” while also staying top of mind over the holidays.
3. Incorporate Giving Back at Community Events
Giving back to my community is incredibly important to me both in my realtor coaching business and with my active real estate team, @taleyhunthomegroup. Real estate has changed my life, and it’s this business and all our incredible clients that have allowed me and my family to donate in ways we never could’ve dreamed of.
So as you begin planning or hosting events over Thanksgiving, start thinking of things you can do that benefit those you serve. It doesn’t have to be anything huge, and it doesn’t have to cost you anything. For example, don’t be afraid to ask people to bring a donation for a fundraiser you believe in or offer to collect food bank donations at your next event.
Even just donating your time at a local cause that’s meaningful to you speaks volumes. It all comes back around!!
5. Host a Client Appreciation Dinner
Rather than just telling your clients you appreciate them this holiday season, consider going even a step further and showing them by hosting a small client appreciation gathering.
Before you click out of this blog thinking, “Taley has lost her mind! I’m a mom—who on earth has time to do all that?!” hear me out. This Thanksgiving real estate “event” by no means has to be a big production. After all, it’s the thought that counts—even the simplest, seemingly smallest gestures can make a BIG impact on client relationships in real estate.
Here are a few ways you can bring this idea to life without spending a ton of time or $$$:
- Host a potluck at home or at a local community center.
- Invite clients over for a “Coffee and Dessert” night.
- Book a group reservation at a local restaurant (no set up or clean up required).
Important note → You likely clicked on this blog looking for Thanksgiving real estate marketing ideas to get more new eyes on your business (I get it, lead generation is crucial). But keep in mind—nurturing existing relationships can be just as (if not more) effective! Finding new ways to celebrate the people in your sphere is always a good idea.
6. The Gist
As you start to plan out your holiday marketing this year, keep in mind—there’s no one way to do it! You get to choose how you want to attract new leads and how you want to nurture existing ones, so don’t feel like you need to do EVERYTHING on this list.
Instead, I recommend choosing one or two (those that feel most authentic and that make the most sense for your busy realtor mom life), and put your heart into them. That’s the real way to get results!
And with that, here’s the “gist” for my skimmers out there. 😘
